We are absolutely buried in snow here in Iowa!!! On Saturday night we got 1 inch of ice and then 6 inches of snow. No church on Sunday! We then had Monday off for President's Day, but we then had today off as well. The roads are just so bad!
Yesterday as we were sitting around not doing much Mikayla said, "We sure aren't talking about the President's much, this is President's Day you know!" It was funny!
The kids have been absolutely stir crazy. Saturday we didn't do much except getting a few groceries in preparation for the snow storm. Then Sunday we didn't leave all day and then Monday we were snowed in also. By Monday night we were all going out of our minds. We have played every game known to man and done every craft in our arsenal! This winter needs to get over before we all go insane.
As far as I know we will have school tomorrow but I wouldn't be surprised if it is a late start. We are supposed to get another inch of snow tonight and then it is supposed to be REALLY windy with "white-out" conditions. If you have never driven in those conditions, it is really scary! You can't tell where the road is from the ditch!
Today we did get out, the roads were bad though. We took the girls to lunch and then to Bed, Bath and Beyond to look at bedroom stuff for the new house. We then took the younger two to my friend Kris' house, where she watched them while Jeff, Jenna and I spent 2 hours finalizing our kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities etc. I am exhausted from doing that, it is mind boggling!
Hopefully winter ends soon! We have gotten over 50 inches of snow this year, last year we got 13. We only need like 8 more inches and we will beat the all time record snow fall! The record was made way back in like 1913 or something! Yippee! Let's go for the record!
