Snow Day #2 this week!

Posted by Picasa

Today is our third snow day of the year, and the second of the week. We had Monday off also. Monday was more freezing rain and since last night we have gotten about 12 inches of snow! I LOVE getting that 5:30 morning call! I love hearing my co-worker Jo Dee saying, "Merry Birthday and Happy Christmas! There's no school today!!! " Yippee!

Today I spent cleaning up, and doing school work. The girls just played so well today it was amazing! I barely saw them all day. I sat on my bed from before noon until 5 p.m. grading papers, and decided that this was for the birds! What would I have done if I hadn't had a snow day, I would be even farther behind. The thing is, is that I have probably another 3 hours of work yet to do! No, this isn't because I am just behind from before, its just normal day to day stuff.

I have included a few pictures for you. The past weekend our friends Mark and Sandy Hansen from the Kansas City area came to visit. He really enjoyed just getting the girls all "riled" up and then snickering as Jeff and struggled to get them to bed! For months now we have been contemplating buying their dining rooom table/chairs/and hutch from them. They were selling it b/c they just don't have room for it, and after pricing them out at lots of furniture stores we decided we can't beat the deal they were giving us. So they brought it up to us. The picture is of us eating Sunday dinner. The girls, especially Mikayla, who is all about "family time", were so excited that we could all eat around the table together and we could fit in chairs AND put the food on the table. Our last table was so small that one child had to eat on a stool bc 5 chairs wouldn't fit around and then we couldn't really fit the food on the table very easily. So, we are thrilled!

There are a few pictures of our house. With this snow, it will NEVER get finished!

The other pictures are of the snow today, I wouldn't venture out in it, so they are pictures taken from the warmth of my house. Jeff had to go out and plow the drive-way, he got stuck. Jenna tried to push him out, but he ended up having to hook the 4 wheeler up to the truck and get it unstuck.

Although this snow is annoying, and we have to go through lots of "crap" sometimes at our jobs etc. (yes, I am speaking of a situation right now that I am going through) we are so blessed to be safe and not be a victim of the many tornadoes that tore through Arkansas etc. How sad. Let's count our blessings today even amidst the trials of life. Please pray for me tomorrow as I have to have a sensitive conversation at work tomorrow. My mom tells me I need to "straighten my back bone", "get my gumption up" and go in there and "do it." Thanks mom for the pep talk!
