Jeff's new hobby-"treasure hunting"

Jeff has found a new hobby. Every Wednesday night there is a huge auction around here. He has gone several times now. He bought a really nice bench to go on our front porch and some other misc. stuff. Now he has gotten our friends Shawn and Rachael hooked on it too. Jenna likes to go too and if she doesn't have homework we let her tag along. This past Wed night he came home with a huge box of junk, dumped it on the floor and he and Jenna went through it. Of course I was horrified and kept muttering my disapproval. He kept saying over and over to Jenna, "Mom just doesn't understand Jenna, there are treasures in here." They laughed and had a good time going through some poor ladies stuff. I am sure she had passed away. They found such "treasures" as old hotel soap, dental floss, wallets, scarves, ribbon, hair culers and many more wonderful things. They did discover some actual good stuff, like 2 large things of duct tape, unopened. Haley wasn't in bed yet (she didn't have school the next day) and so she got in on the action.(Poor Mik was in bed sleeping) You will notice in the picture that Haley discovered many "treasures". They are all sitting on the arm of the couch in front of her. She kept saying, "look at this treasure mom!" Jeff would just look at me and smile. Her treasures included old ribbons/bows, a wallet, some curler pins and the beautiful plastice plaque that she is holding. She thought that it would look great in my kitchen. Of course I agreed with her! It is now beautifying her room but I am sure that soon it will find its way into my kitchen! She is a riot. I need to find a new hobby for my husband. I must say though that it is something that Jenna and Jeff have really enjoyed doing together as father/daughter, so its worth it. Even if I have a floor full of junk every Wed. night.
