We are home from our 2 week vacation. We left Mitchell, S.D. this morning about 10. We had planned to get up and leave around 8 but we all just slept and slept, even through our wake-up call at 7! We didn't wake up until 9 when the maid knocked on the door to see if we had left and she could clean our room. I opened the door in my pj's, the room was dark as night. I am sure she thought we were the laziest family she ever met. But I tell you we are exhausted. It was a WONDERFUL vacation but we are ever so glad to get home. We arrived home around 4:30, boy were the girls excited to see the dogs, and they were excited to see us. We thank Phil, our worship pastor, and his fiance' Jackie, soooo much for staying at our house for the last 2 weeks and taking care of things. They left a cake on the counter for us! That was awesome b/c we had no food in the house. We unloaded the van (wishing we could just blow it up), and then Haley and I ran to the grocery store to get milk etc. I had strict instructions to cook a home cooked meal (read yesterday's post) so I got ingredients for spaghetti with my "special" sauce. The girls were so excited for that. Jeff left right after I got home from the store to go to work!!!!! I asked the girls if they were excited to have a home-cooked meal and Jenna said, "yes, because I know it will be good!" That made me feel good. I will have to track back to the grocery store tomorrow and really stock up as I only got enough to get us through the evening and tomorrow breakfast.
I just realized that I can't post any more pictures because they are all downloaded onto the laptop and Jeff has the lap top with him. I will take lots of time to go day by day tomorrow and give you the details of Sunday and Monday, our time in Yellowstone, since I jipped you out of all that! Aren't you excited!!!?? Yellowstone really is amazing so you won't want to miss out! :)
We all can't wait to sleep in our own beds tonight! In fact Haley is already there! I want to report that none on us really got sick, at least sick enough to stop us. One day Haley had a fever and pretty much didn't eat all day, and from then on (for about the last 3-4 days) she has had stomach cramps and diarrhea. In fact we had to stop all the time for her to go to the bathroom. Hey Ray and Carri- do the words "digestive problems" mean anything to you??? :) (sorry everyone else- inside joke!)
We began each day with a prayer and ended it with a prayer (especially our driving days) and I just want to give the Lord praise right now for the blessing of safety on our trip. Those mountains in Canada, but especially the Rocky Mountains in Yellowstone and the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming were very stressful, and I really felt His protection on our van around those sharp hair-pin curves with drop offs/cliffs to the side.
Tomorrow I will give you those pictures and the day by day update you've been waiting for!
Sleep tight- I know we will!!

We are very glad you are home safely, we have been talking about you the whole time. Does that stressful drive mean you will never do it again???? We hope not, it was great to visit again, to see how big the girls are, and just hang out with your family again. Thank you for spending part of your vacation with us. We appreciate it!
