Haley was star of the week for her Pre-Kindergarten class. That means she got to put all of her pictures etc. up on the bulletin board, talk about them, and Miss Leyen came over for a home visit. So, this past Tuesday night Haley had a special visitor. She was so excited. She didn't want me to cook supper because "we just need to clean." I have never seen her so eager to clean her room, make her bed ("with no lumps mom!"), and sweep the kitchen floor. She was dragging the broom and dustpan out without me even asking her.
When Miss Leyen got there Haley showed her all around her room, then they played "Headbandz", then Haley wanted to go on a walk, then she took her downstairs to the play room (which had not been cleaned) and finally offered her some Pumpkin Crunch for dessert. On one of the papers that we were to fill out for the week we were supposed to list something else that everyone should know about Haley. I put on the paper that she can touch her nose with her tongue. So the above picture shows her doing that. Miss Leyen tried it and couldn't do it, much to Haley's delight! The next day in school Miss Leyen said that all the kids tried doing that and no could! Jenna can also, but no one else in the family. I would like to know how many of you can do it. It's hard!
Anyway...as soon as Miss Leyen left, Haley crashed! She had a meltdown and went off to bed instantly!
Today is Jeff's birthday!! I will share pictures of that tomorrow. I have to get home from work quickly so I can make those chicken n dumplins. On a special note to my sister..."Leah, you will not find these chicken n dumplins in any aisle in the store, they are homeade!---that only pertains to when Jeff is cooking for MY birthday! :) " (everyone else- refer to the comment from yesterday!)
Our computer is on the fritz, we somehow obtained a virus, so i am having to blog from work.
Our house plans are done!!! Our builder is getting the bidding now, then it goes to the city for a permit, we are hoping to begin digging by the end of October!!! Exciting!
Ohhhh...I was FINALLY observed today!!!! Not only was I observed by my principal for an hour but by a board member for 1.5 hours. So from 8:30-10, and from 12:30-1:30 was a little stressful. But all went well and I am glad I am done! BUT...during my evaluation with my principal my CELL PHONE RANG!!!!!!!! I said, "Mr. Annis, my phone never rings in class!" and went over and shut it off. Later, I saw that it was my mother, she wanted to make dinner plans for Jeff's b-day tonight. After he left I said to my kids, "Can you believe my cell phone rang?!?" One of my sweet little girls said, "Oh, but you handled it really well Mrs. Tackaberry!" We'll see what he thinks of it when we discuss my evaluation next week.
Should go, my kids are at p.e. and will be back any minute. It is time to send them out the door to go home when they return to my class. I am very glad that this day is over and I can just look forward to celebrating Jeff's 36th tonight!
Cheerio!

That's a neat thing Haley's teacher does (going to a student's home, etc)! I can't touch my tongue to my nose either.
